TravelLog terms of use

About these terms

TravelLog is a car app for Android Automotive OS (the "car app") and an Android phone app (the "phone app"). By using either of them you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them. How your data is handled is described in the privacy policy.

What TravelLog does

The car app records the trips your car makes, automatically. If you connect your own Google Drive, an encrypted copy of each trip is stored there. The phone app reads those encrypted files and show your trips and statistics.

The price

The figures are not an official record

Distances, speeds, consumption and charging and fuel figures come from the car's sensors and from GPS. They can be wrong or incomplete, for example after a GPS gap, in cars that report their sensors differently, or if the car loses power during a trip. Please check them before you rely on them for anything that matters, such as tax or expense claims, a business mileage log or insurance. TravelLog is not a certified mileage log (körjournal), and I do not promise that it meets the requirements of any authority.

Do not use the apps in a way that takes your attention from driving. The car shows parts of the car app only while the car is parked.

Using TravelLog

Other services

TravelLog relies on services run by others: Google Drive and Google Sign-In, Google Play for the subscription, and, only if you turn it on, MapTiler for the map background. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to their part.

Changes and availability

The apps are provided as they are. Features can change or be removed, and the apps depend on Google, on your car and on your phone, which I do not control. If I ever stop offering TravelLog, your trips remain in your Google Drive as encrypted files.

No warranty, and limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, TravelLog is provided without promises that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors, and I am not liable for indirect losses such as lost income, lost data or lost savings. My total liability for direct losses is limited to the amount you paid for TravelLog in the twelve months before the problem. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending

You can stop using TravelLog at any time: sign out, uninstall, and delete your trips from Drive in the apps. I may stop providing TravelLog to someone who misuses it.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a way that matters, I will update the effective date, and for a material change also say so in the apps or on this page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Swedish law. If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, you keep the rights you have under the mandatory consumer protection laws of the country where you live.
